The result of a good idea and a bit of experimentation. Very dirty sound with an aphex-y sort of breakdown. I dig it.

FOR FL STUDIO USERS:
In case you're at all interested, the siren sound the track is based on is a kick drum/hi hat sample taken from a breakbeat I had lying around put into the *fruity* granulizer. I set the attack and hold time to minimum. I linked the grain spacing to the keyboard controller velocity and the wave spacing to the keyboard controller note, at which point I went absolutely nuts with it and recorded some keyboard input(resulting in the ending section)

I clicked in keyboard notes manually to get the more cohesive siren "melody" sound and the backwards sucking sounds also.

The lower, growling sound is a TR707 kick drum in the granulizer with manual automation to the grain and wave spacing. Both growls are fed through a very, very nasty Waveshaper distortion setting I made up.

FL Studio is much more than a little techno making toy, but I'm sure everyone should know that by now ;)

I loved it for some odd reason, though it lacked any real regularity or semblance of having a rhythm or melody. it was AWESOME! make moar =O
