a song ive been meaning to redo with justice for many years now.. part 2

Basically If you piece the two together you will get the full 8:45 song ^^

Looong ago in 2004 I attempted this song - and failed miserably at it because I sucked - I shall admit.

This song is Beatrix and Steiner's theme "Protecting my Devotion" from Final Fantasy 9 - while the original has a more romantic feel mine is a little more action packed. I used Reason 4.0 and Fl studio 7.0 to make this, as well as Cool Edit Pro. I also used Hypersonic, The Grande 2, and nexus, along with various other resources that I always use - and lots and lots of filtering, EQ and whatnot :)

I ran into a little snag when I brought the final product from my laptop and pc and discovered all the BASS i couldnt hear on my laptop - but lowering the low end of the spectrum helped - although I fear some of the quality was still lost - ah well - not much you can do about that.

So enjoy! I do believe I am quite happy with the stereo field - nothing really interferes and everything has its place in the song :)

Reminds me of a time long ago....

.....When Kingdoms were at war with each other over who would own a single acre of land and send thousands to there deaths to fight and capture it. Or a time where Buccaneers and swashbuckling and ye scurvy dogs were to pillage and plunder and sack merchant ships and coastal villages and port towns to there hearts content, and freedom of the the open seas was vast........Oh sorry got caught in a flash of imagination. Anyway Great Job! XD

Chronamut responds:

lol yeah I can see that :)

Nice.

This was one of the themes I loved hearing when I played FF9. I do have a request though. Would it be possible for the two halves to be brought back together and put up as a whole? I like to shuffle the music on my PSP and I'd hate to break up the song just because of that.

Chronamut responds:

I cant - combined they take up too much space - newgroudns has an 8 meg limit - otherwise I wouldnt have split it up oriinally :)

sorry!

thanks for the review!
