a song ive been meaning to redo with justice for many years now.. part 2

Basically If you piece the two together you will get the full 8:45 song ^^

Looong ago in 2004 I attempted this song - and failed miserably at it because I sucked - I shall admit.

This song is Beatrix and Steiner's theme "Protecting my Devotion" from Final Fantasy 9 - while the original has a more romantic feel mine is a little more action packed. I used Reason 4.0 and Fl studio 7.0 to make this, as well as Cool Edit Pro. I also used Hypersonic, The Grande 2, and nexus, along with various other resources that I always use - and lots and lots of filtering, EQ and whatnot :)

I ran into a little snag when I brought the final product from my laptop and pc and discovered all the BASS i couldnt hear on my laptop - but lowering the low end of the spectrum helped - although I fear some of the quality was still lost - ah well - not much you can do about that.

So enjoy! I do believe I am quite happy with the stereo field - nothing really interferes and everything has its place in the song :)

"Nice."

date: September 30, 2009

This was one of the themes I loved hearing when I played FF9. I do have a request though. Would it be possible for the two halves to be brought back together and put up as a whole? I like to shuffle the music on my PSP and I'd hate to break up the song just because of that.

Author's Response:

I cant - combined they take up too much space - newgroudns has an 8 meg limit - otherwise I wouldnt have split it up oriinally :)

sorry!

"Yay for celtic"

date: April 9, 2009

To me this kinda sounds like celtic or something. Pritty cool. Near the middle it struck me that this was an ff song. Could do with some wild guitar solos or spastic drum beats. LOL

"Detail"

Gotta love it, FF9 themes bring back memories. I like your attention to detail in music production. You've got such a list of programs and such that go into the making. Right now, my lists only have like two programs, then I'm done. lol
