a song ive been meaning to redo with justice for many years now.. part 2

Basically If you piece the two together you will get the full 8:45 song ^^

Looong ago in 2004 I attempted this song - and failed miserably at it because I sucked - I shall admit.

This song is Beatrix and Steiner's theme "Protecting my Devotion" from Final Fantasy 9 - while the original has a more romantic feel mine is a little more action packed. I used Reason 4.0 and Fl studio 7.0 to make this, as well as Cool Edit Pro. I also used Hypersonic, The Grande 2, and nexus, along with various other resources that I always use - and lots and lots of filtering, EQ and whatnot :)

I ran into a little snag when I brought the final product from my laptop and pc and discovered all the BASS i couldnt hear on my laptop - but lowering the low end of the spectrum helped - although I fear some of the quality was still lost - ah well - not much you can do about that.

So enjoy! I do believe I am quite happy with the stereo field - nothing really interferes and everything has its place in the song :)

Nice man. I loved this theme from final fantasy 9. In fact final fantasy IS my favorite final fantasy. I don't really have anything bad to say about this. There's a lot of little variations in the instruments being used and the song just keeps building. I'd say you did this song some good justice. I especially loved when 1:41 hits. Love that part. So full of tension and such a flamenco dance sort of melody. Good job, mate.

I really like this, I haven't actually managed to get into the FF's even though I've wanted to but I've always liked listening to remixes of the theme music and such because it's easier to get my hands on the music from the games. Good work =]

I hope you find the inspiration to do more
