Well, I was aiming towards a very somber song... If you remember "We are free now" from the movie Gladiator, that's the kind of aim I was going for. Imagine someone just sacrificing their lives to have your own live longer. To me, it's the most emotional topic and I felt like I needed to bring it up. The melody in my point is VERY emotional and doesn't come in until in the ladder of the buildup.
This song is dedicated to all of the people who have done so.
Other than that, I was in a real EMO mood, and wanted to make something like it would come straight out of a Soundtrack, and just sounded like it could deserve an Oscar or something. Like that will happen, but you wont succeed in life if you don't set high standards for yourself, or at least that is my belief. I bet if I had a symphony behind me and a better mastering skill, I might be able to do something with this in the ladder part of my life.
I kind of used a There Will be Blood moment in the song, see if you can find it =)
