This gives you a nice idea of the direction I like to go in. Lines that are simple to play, but work together efficiently. The most difficult thing in writing songs is not what to put in, but what to leave out ...

"this is pretty phenomenal"

date: May 28, 2008

it might be just me, but it's a little loud...

but, that aside, the layering and the instrumentation are amazing. everything in is crisp and clean without too much "overmix" clutter. being able to play the instruments also allows you to improvise and then later say you "wrote it", lol.

from the simple beat to the indulgent guitar work, this is great. maybe some more "oomph" behind the drum clips, maybe a new track altogether with more thorough (a.k.a. real) playback. if i'm mistaken about how you did them, correct me, but they sound like a single recording, unaltered as it passes through.

i think this should be tossed into the general rock category though. i know that category sucks for garnering attention, but it fits there stylistically.

even with criticism, this is great.
