Oh yea, start grooving. Submission for Pico Punchout '08...yaaay!!!

I decided to do a little remix of my song Looming Abyss.
http://www.newgrounds.com /audio/listen/29133

Abyss was responsible for a mysterious wind that spread across the world, killing plant life in its wake. This phenomenon prompted numerous heroes and villains to band together and investigate. He's something akin to entropy incarnate, a fabled monstrosity that would bring the world back to primordial times, killing all life in the process. (0:00 - 0:41)

Abyss's true form is apparently that of a large glowing sphere that hovers around in the background. Abyss changes into three different forms when fighting. (0:42 - 0:55)

In the first stage of the battle the metal sphere surrounds itself with a giant suit of armor which is slow moving with powerful attacks. The fight takes place in a large temple like structure, presumably underground. (0:56 - 1:23)

After this form is defeated, the armor melts into the floor and the temple crumbles, leaving the fighters standing in a green pool of slime. The abyss sphere floats in the background as the second form reveals itself: A small green humanoid capable of creating paralyzing bubbles, shooting fire and energy beams, and sinking into the floor to avoid attacks. (1:24- 2:19)

After this form is destroyed, the green slime turns orange and a large demonic beast forms around the Abyss sphere. This third form attacks with powerful energy attacks and sheer brute strength. If this form is defeated the sphere apparently loses its power and the cave and island the monster inhabits begins to sink (2:20 - 3:30)

Haha, I found this on wikipedia when i was looking for an icon. Its about the character abyss from Marvel vs Capcom. I think it fits pretty well with the song though...i mean its got three movements.

"Good song."

The sounds varied alot and told different stories. The percussion helped the song out alot and showed that the song has great potential. Overall great song and helps depict a picture in my mind.

"Pretty Nice"

date: July 26, 2008

The rhythm really worked for me pretty well, even though it did get a bit samey after a while. You really mixed the lead stuff up enough to the point where it didn't get stale at all.
This song really had a lot of different sounds going on throughout the corse of the track, but it all sounded really good together.
Though this wasn't at all slow, it did tend to drag on a bit towards the end of the track. I think adding a solo over that percussion-y part at around 3:44 would sound really nice. That would of course mean extending the song a bit, but I think it would do this some good. ;p
Overall, you've got a good tune here, though. I enjoyed listening.

"Looming it is"

date: July 26, 2008

This is a pretty good track the inro good i liked it.

The intro good as i said it got a repetitive sound, but thats ,quite a good mix. As it makes it somehowm more likeable. The tune does get going more around, the 1 minute mark. The sound is a good mix of techno, and it good for it. The tune is fairly long but i dont mind, its got my attention. For the varity of sounds you used. The sound is cool.

No real flaws as i said the beat a bit repetitive in parts, but i think thats the think i like.

Overeall a very good track.

"Good tune"

Though it takes alittle while to get going, this is a nice piece of work. A little light on the pace and beat for techno, but I think you've got a good start in this genre in all honesty.

I think that your best bet for improvement is to knock up the tempo and possibly add a more powerful bass beat - let the tune mark its authority on the world of Techno.
