Slow dance/trance-song in 130bpm created by Eirik Blodoks Hafskjold (Skymarshall Arts) and Lars Erling Bolstad (Xenomorph). It's about way back when gaming was magical, and pretty much all we did. Mainly on the Amiga and C64 and various following consoles. And now ofcourse PC.

I sequenced this 70% in FLStudio7 XXL, 20% in Cubase SX3 and 10% in Adobe Audition 1.5. Instruments used are too many to be named, but the main VST was reFX QuadraSID. Vocals where recorded by a RĂ˜DE NT-a1 through a Roland UA-4FX and given a little delay, flanger and chorus. Vocals and lyrics are by myself.

Lyrics are as follows:

Niiiiiintendo .... wohoooo!

I remember a time that I was sitting alone.
And playing my Amiga at home.
Gaming Maniac Mansion and Lotus Turbo,
and U.F.O Enemy Unknown.
Sitting on my ass - doing nothing at all.
But managing in Ports of Call.
No chance in hell I would ever ever get bored of;
killing NVA in Dogs of War.

Yeah, I'm a gamer forever.
I'm gaming whatever.
Together with my lads 'til I die.
I'm gaming forever.
I'm gaming whatever.
Together with my ladies 'til I die.

Finaly

A track thats a orginal vocal mix
Alot of the vocal tracks on here are just mostly KateLesing Remixs and get kinda over used.
So big up's for doing your own vocal track man its awesome i love gamingmOld school and new school.
My opion on your track.
Pads at the start were perfect (glad you know that the cutoff knobs are magic on those kind of pads)
Melody was nice and sweet and i love how you used the mario synth (nice mario finsh btw) sound for you lead.
The vocals remind of this old euro-trance song i had i really love about that about the vocals and they suit the song perfectly.
I think i could of been abit louder overrall and maybe use one more synth to go with the the main one to give it more feel and could of used and abit more percussion.
But on that every thing else is good and youve made a great song man and congrats on the top 5 of the week.
I was hoping to get in there with my new track but i guess not this time.
Check it out if you want its called jessica you should get down to it if you got the time,it would be nice to get a review.
Keep it up man your good :D
Peace.

SkyMarshall responds:

Thanks for that one:) Appreciate it. I also agree on the Kate Lesing thing, she/it has used up its potential. I do confess to doing a song with her vocals, but hey - I just had to try. Glad you notice some technical stuff like cutoff and freuqency settings. I agree that presets mostly suck. Also, looking back at it - I feel it is a little empty behind the vocals. Maybe I should do a re-edit and add something new. But thanks for your long and insightful review - it makes me happy Im in here.

And yes - we both like euro-dance. Oh the memories :)
