HOLY CRAP, IT IS FINALLY FINISHED!

Holy good gravy.

As anyone who's been paying attention to my work will know, I've been planning and creating this mix for about three or four months now. After a long, brutal and frequently-interrupted time of mixing, matching and procrastinating, however, I give you Esperoid: A Tribute to Dancing Mad.

This mix began as a little brainchild. I figured I wanted to do something epic. I really like Dancing Mad - I think it blows everything else out of the water, right from Zeromus to One-Winged Angel (ESPECIALLY One-Winged Angel. Man, I hate that song). So when I started this, my motivation was purely to create something that may but hold a candle to the magnificence of the original. This is, in all ways, shapes and forms, a tribute to the wonderfulness that is Dancing Mad.

So I hope that my mix can live up to it (more of a cover than a mix, really).

Much love to everyone who supported me on the way to creating this, and I hope I fulfilled your expectations!

"I like this more than the Black Mages' take on it"

Yeah, that's right, I think it's better than what Uematsu's own band played. Great job, man.

"Raving Mad-Critique 1"

Hello, I know that you said listen to both parts (which I have) but I will be writing on both so I can give off more in depth feedback.

First of all, I must imply that you rename this "Raving Mad" because I literally think this does belong at a rave. The beat and bass for most of the song are strong and loud, which for this piece goes along with the synths and the electrical instruments well.

I enjoyed the creativity of this piece, bits and pieces here and there (a fine example is the music box chime during 3:26 and beyond) it made the piece as a whole unique, giving it a new style compared to the original. However, there seems at sometimes too MUCH of a good thing at some parts. In example, the distortion of the guitar around :36 hurt my ears a bit and seemed to dull out a lot of the other instruments. Also, since most of the music was electric or synth, some parts blended in too well, making it hard to distinguish harmony and melody.

I loved the transitions of Part 1 to Part 2 at 2:35, it was short but it seemed to slide along very smoothly.

Part 1 as a whole was extraordinary, I liked the way the intro was played and accustomed with the beginning of the actual song. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it also seemed like a heart beat near :19 and lasting for a couple of seconds, that blended in well and actually helped show tone of the piece and it's intensity. You seemed very accurate with the speed of the piece as well; starting off the piece nice and slow and then leading it up to intense.

Part 2 also was extraordinary, as mentioned before, the piece from P1 slid right into it without a beat, keeping me with the rhythm. A few parts blended in here and there during the part but it still was phoenominal. It also kept it's accuracy from the original; being light and bouncy, yet dark and emotional at the same time.

Little things that I would suggest is to out-branch to a few more style of instrument, or maybe even choir to avoid over-blending the sounds together.

Little things aside, this was a simply beautiful piece.

I will not post a score on this review but will put it on my next review on your piece. Please do not think I'm giving you a (0) for as I can see, you don't deserve anything less than 9. And that's being critical!

Keep up the great work!

I never thought somebody would go over these tunes...
But I think I might love you for it... [/joke]

It's wonderful, and I'll probably be listening to this and part 2 for the rest of today and most likely this week.

"Amazing!"

I have to agree with PenguinJustice's review on all accounts. The guitar was slightly out of place, but the notes were enough to make up for it. A different instrument, or a guitar that wasn't a synth would be better for that part. Good job!

I nearly cried, lol.
