This is a sad song sung to a young boy who loses his mother in a cold rainstorm. This song is dedicated to my Grandmother who died this year on January 2nd, just a day before her 75th Birthday :-(

Lyrics

"Where'd you go from here
Where'd you go...
You never said that you'd disappear
Why'd you leave me now
I'm all alone
No one to help me through
This fear

Memories passing by
I sit alone and cry
Everything you had told
Now seems like gold

Everyone's telling me
I'll see you again
In a magical place
Called Heaven

But deep down they all know
There's no such place
Because we haven't seen a trace
Of such eternity in this world
Where everyone dies
And everyone cries..."

Sorry to say.. no offense or anything but the voice actin made me laugh a bit. If you are going to make a song like thise, you got to have a real child crying or something. It has to be sort of erry. This just sounded.. well corny.

"Everyone Cries"

While the quality could be better, I think it really works for this song. I like the rain in the background, but I think you could cut out the crying when the lyrics start. Or just make it sobbing instead with words while the lyrics are running. Just a small gripe of mine *shrug*.

The piano melody is pretty sweet and the contrast with your voice really makes it sad and kinda creepy haha. The song itself sounds like something you'd here in an older horror movie in an elevator. That's the kind of feeling I got from it, it was really morose.

Nice job on this one, if you fix a couple things, it'd be a perfect ten. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks man! Getting a decent critique from a good musician like yourself is always very uplifting. You have inspired me to remake this song with modifications someday soon :-)

I really like the melody itself. It's fun and retro.

It contrasts really interestingly with the rain and the crying to make a novel feeling

That being said...
You need a sad song, so you put a track with rain and crying behind it?
Haha, cmon. ;)

Seriously though, it makes a really cool effect and I enjoyed the listen, so nice work.

Author's Response:

I thought the rain and the kid crying would intensify the sadness a bit more and give it a small story I could maybe make into a Flash movie or something later on. Anywayz overall I'm very glad a very prolific Flash movie maker and musician like yourself actually liked it. Thanks for the review :-)

It feels a bit uncomfortable listening at times. I'll give you a 9.

Author's Response:

Thank you. I know this is a painful song to hear but death is indeed something we must all face in our lifetime and I just hope people who have had recent loss of a loved one can find this song to reflect their sadness upon and realise they are not alone...
