An astronaut floats in space all alone. This is a song that represents loneliness and isolation. It's in 3/4, so it's easy to dance to, if you're from the 18th century, and have a big white wig on your head. =P
I really enjoyed writing this song, and I hope that I can take this back to the traditional form of composition, and notate it out, because I made sure that when I was writing this, it would be possible to perform on a piano/keyboard, unlike some of my other compositions that would require more than two hands to play. So, I'd like to learn how to play my own composition, lol, but for now, here's what I made with my computer. A live recording wouldn't have the delay and panning, so I think it'll work out well as a performance piece and as a digital composition.
I hope you like it, the first 5 (or so) notes are quite random, and are there to break the mood before the actual song begins. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy, take your mind to the deepest corner of space, where you are all alone.

Don't forget to rate and review, I'd love to know what you think of my music, all reviews are appreciated.

Cheers.

"Captivating"

Absolutely beautiful. Please don't be put off by my 7/10 but I'm a very harsh critic and 7/10 for this is pretty damned good!

I was totally drawn into this song and got lost in it. I feel some kind of inner contentment after listening to it.

A kind of lonely happiness. A feeling of solitude comes from having the one instrument, but it works for me wonderfully.

I am an artist (of sorts) and in early staged of working on short animations, and I thought this track would fit well into one of them, having it as the only sound, no FX or voice. Would you be willing to maybe change a couple of notes towards the end to make it feels like there's a climax rather, a feeling of an end to a hardship/endevour? If not, I can still work with this track just maybe cut a couple of seconds of it? Msg me if you like :)

Now, onto the rest of your work ... :)

You've improved quite a lot in the aspect of mixing as well composition I see :D Very well structured track!

I like the deep reverb model to reflect space, as well as the ping pong delay effects, very nice! Never a dull moment in this song, very great piano playing and flowing melodies, when you think its about to end you pick up the song again. Sweet spots: cool chord at 1:26, cool sixteenths arpeggio at 2:07ish (I lost the spot lol). Overall nice work, mostly gloomy happiness is the vibe I picked up from this, with a touch of mystery to add to the spacey dreaminess theme.

Good job WB!

Thanks, S3C. I'm really glad you like this. The part where it sounded like it was going to end, well, that's where I planned on ending it. XD But then it didn't sound right.
I'm hoping the improvements in this song will carry over into future songs. I'm working on a few things at the moment, but they haven't fallen into place yet.
Thanks for the encouraging review!

WB, i am very sorry about my recent absence. Stuff has been going on and this totally slipped my mind. I probably wont be back on anytime soon either, which I also apologize for in advance.

But dang bro, sounds like I've been missing some good stuff, cause this is beautiful. It seems like you never took my advice on gettin into the multiple instrument things... probably for the best cause this is a really lovely song.

My only comment is that its not especially lonely, its kinda upbeat, but it that will not detract from your score. Seriously, this is the best song I have ever heard from you, but im comparing that to stuff from like 3 months ago. Glad to see you still gettin better and better.

I think now to my first thoughts when I listened to your early stuff and in comparing it to this...well im glad ive seen a lot of the steps in between becuase i wouldnt believe such a transition was possible in so short a time.

well congratulations, 5, 10, dl. Looks like ill b on more to listen in a bit more often. ah such a wonderful song...

Hey, don't stress about it. I love your reviews, and I appreciate each and every one of them. You don't have to appologise for taking a break from reviewing my music, I don't want you to feel like you let me down when you don't review. Anyway, I am really glad that you like this song, and I think it's great that you're supporting me as much as you are, through this growth.
I'm working on a new song at the moment that's going to be really huge, part classical, part electronica, and it should turn out great, I think.
Great to see your reviews!
Thanks, man. You're awesome.

"Great"

Another great song from the LovePlimp :P, but yeah this is a really really nice hear such a well put together piece. Just seems to be so layered and even though there is only piano, you couln't tell if there wasn't a full band. The outro was a lovely touch aswell. Great job

Author's Response:

There's a certain something that solo instruments can capture that an orchestra or band could never capture, I'll probably do a lot of solo/small ensemble stuff in the future.
Thanks for the review. <3

"Spaced out!"

by: Coop83

What a nice piece - captured the essence of being alone in the depths of space, with only a few crewmates to talk to and possibly the few dozen people down in mission control, who really don't want to spend their time talking about how your favourite sporting team is getting on, for example.

This piece seems to really focus upon the trials and the pleasure of the space walk itself, where you are totally free, when it really comes down to it - so small is the force of gravity.

Good use of piano in the symbolism and the results are quite tranquil and breathtaking!

Author's Response:

Thanks, man! I kind of like the idea of being suspended in the vacuum of space, with the nearest civilisation millions of kilometers away, I think there's a haunting beauty in that.
Cheers.
