I've had a few people tell me they wanted to hear a guitar track from me. So here you all go, it's a pretty mellow track. So enjoy!

Any and all criticism is appreciated.

Author's Response:

Aww dude, don't worry about it.
All you gotta do is stick with it and you'll go somewhere!

I started off on a $120 pawn shop guitar. So, don't worry man!
You'll get your shot!

Thanks, and good luck with that guitar!

"Fun but needs more bg stuff"

Cool sound. We've already established that you're an awesome guitarist.

I like the small stop, counting and restart.

It really seems like it needs a bit of drumming though and maybe a second guitarline.

A bit more simplistic in terms of the basic melody than the other 2 tunes I've heard from you and as the instrument stands alone, it suffers in my mind.

Still fun to hear though.

Author's Response:

Yeah this was before I had been asking my uncle to help me out. And it's old, before I was directly recording.
Thanks, that's my friend who was playin' with me. :]

Yeah, definitely simple. It was just something to show NG I could play.
But it was definitely fun to play, everything is fun for me. :]]

Thanks for the review!

((I've been playing about 10 years by the way.))

"You remind me of Phil Collen with a dirtier sound"

by: jnry3

Yup, I'm a big Def Leppard fan, and the guitars here feel Leppardish. I can also feel some Van Halen too. Anyway, here's my say...

Pros: Enjoyable twin- or triple-guitar riffs. Makes me feel I'm back in the late eighties to early nineties.
Cons: Needs a bass line and drums. I can actually imagine both on this track... just awesome... the drums should have a progression too. I'd love to work on this, actually, but after my project album is done. I kinda prefer a slightly cleaner, less distorted sound from the guitars as well, but that's just me.

Great job! ^_^ Gets a 5 vote anyday.

Author's Response:

Well, this was more-so an experiment on recording myself experimenting and mixing more than one guitar.

Haha, yeah I had been pretty heavily inspired by eighties rock when I was doing this, if you ask me, they had some of the most memorable riffs. :]

I've heard it needs some drums and bass, but seeing as how I don't have the original file, or the equipment to do so, I can't, or I would.

Thanks for the great review and scores :D

"Love the way you play."

date: March 24, 2008

Man, if you can get drums, bass, and vocals down like you have the guitar, there's no reason why you shouldn't be signed. Every once in a while one of the guitars sounded too muddy and drowned the lead out, but that didn't happen often. Keep going man! \m/ ^_^ \m/

March 24, 2008

Author's Response:

Well this was my first attempt at mixing more than one guitar. So things were drowned out here and there. As you can tell, I have it down now.

Especially on Dare to Dream. There are up to ten guitars in some parts. And from what I can tell there are very few mixing mistakes that aren't worth bothering.

I won't even bother re-mastering this just because I like how it sounds, it's got a sort of classic rock feel to it. So that's cool, I was actually goin' for that.

Thanks for the reviews man!
