Hey guys, this is just a demo recording (meaning we put a mic to record and just played it in one take) of our new song. We're a heavy metal band based in Brisbane called Emperium.

http://www.myspace.com/em periumtheband

Michael F. - Lead Guitar
Matt L. - Rhythm Guitar
Sam W. - Drums
Jamie G. (Trinidex) - Bass/Vocals

Yeah, the quality isn't AWESOME as I said it's just a demo. But hope you enjoy it anyway, don't be too harsh with you're reviews, but we're happy to hear them ^_^

"Great!"

date: March 8, 2008

A smooth and simple metal track! Sound quality is a bit crappy, but other than that it sounds great, really professional. Keep it up!

"So I hear..."

date: March 8, 2008

Well, I can sort of hear the rhythmic flow of the song, but it's pretty hard to make it out tonally because of the recording quality (pretty much I could only hear the drums somewhat clearly). I do like the fact that you have these alternating faster and slower sections, though the transitions between them feel a bit abrupt. So yeah, some interesting stuff I guess, but that's about all I can make out, sorry.

Thanks for your review :). Yup, it's kind of hard to make stuff out, it's all down to the way we recorded it I reckon.

"Reminds me of old Black Metal albums..."

date: March 8, 2008

Reminds me of old Black Metal albums when the production was tinny and horrible and it was impossible to hear anything!

HOWEVER that does mean that it also is very atmospheric and intense. It's just that it's so annoyingly difficult to listen to that the music is really just lost. You guys should look into recording each part directly into your soundcard on your computer. You will not get a pro sound just like that, but compared to this it will be way better.

So yeah, keep it up, get a better setup for recording so we can actually HEAR the music that's going on, and KEEP ROCKIN!!!

(I didn't give this song a rating I didn't want to bring it down unfairly, as I can't really tell much about the music!)

Author's Response:

Haha aye fair enough, it is a little hard to hear the guitars over the drums. We'd love to multitrack the whole thing but we don't really have the time, or the means :( no decent microphones or anything.

Sound quality is basically down to the fact that audio from 4 amps and a drum kit are going into a tiny computer mic.

Thanks for your review ^_^
