Stages of Death

On the endless plain Heaven, the warmth and joy is shared by all, and everyone doth love you so.
Through the torment of Purgatory, life is seen through a glass, you see it, but cant control what you see, patterns appearing, endless, repeating patterns
Into the Gates of Hell, a subtle hate that builds into darker more evil thoughts

But alas, your fate was chosen, and its eternal bliss for you, Welcome to heaven.

Now that thats over xD Id like to just point out a few things about this song.
1: It does not loop.
2: I was working with subtle theme changes, not subtle changes themselves, but more high, medium, low. But in this song the change is quick.
3: It does not loop. (See 1)
4: The hell stage wasnt made out to be as dark as the story I made for this song was. But it was the deepest and darkest part of the song. Thats all I was going for xD

So I hope you like it. Comment and vote if you would!

im just not feeling it

well im not feeling it it sounds kinda like a preschool song with the same notes except high middle low than high again pretty boring

It's ambient but...

..I feel like it lacked that one thing that makes ambient songs awesome, which I have no idea what it is, I just know it's not here.

Nice pads, but overall repetitive sound and it doesn't really get me hooked to the song. The ending was rather abrupt, which I disliked too. There's not much to point out here due to the lack of elements, but that pretty much sums up the song's aspects. The melody is the only thing that makes this song worth listening to, but even that is uninteresting.

So cruel, yet so true.

Sounds kinda unfinished. Electonic melody too simp

It's a foreboding tone.

I kinda sense an other-worldly vibe about this. I can't imagine it as showing heaven/purgatory/hell - no part of the song sounds warm and joyful to me... however it certainly fits with the vibe of an afterlife or some mythical dimension.

I felt the electronic lead melody was a bit simplistic and maybe too overpowering.

The slow notes were cool though and I liked that vibe - reminds me vaguely of Tim Follin's work in Equinox.

I think it desperately needs to either have a slower ending (not just end abruptly at the end of a phrase like it currently does) or loop.

Overall, it sounded a lot more like an experiment or WIP than a finished piece. No keeper.

TheReno responds:

You are correct, an experiment. Thanks for the advice :P

Hmmmm

This was an interesting one to judge, on one hand I really like ambient style music, but this song didn't have that much ambient in it. It just seemed like it was the start of a song that had been cut off before it really got off. I also didn't like the spicing of backing track seemed to skip alot. But that was really all that was wrong, other than that I can see potential

TheReno responds:

This really was like a test run. Trying to expand my horizon a little. I agree this isnt one of my best songs, but it is good for what it showed me. I will experiment more with the inter transitions. Thanks for the review :3

Soft

Well the ending is something that gets me, it just seems to be very sudden like it just cuts off, you might want to fade it out or something like that, just so it's not as sudden, would seem much better if you did, in my opinion anyway. But aside from that, the main tune seems to be very soft and calm, though a little too quiet in a way. Not a bad sound overall, but seems to lack a lot of veriation.

I do like calm tunes personally, so parts of this do seem to be good, though there are some parts where you have a kind of muffled sound over the beats, which seems to be kind of annoying. The main thing I would suggest improving is the ending though, but otherwise pretty nice.

3/5
