Game(s): Final Fantasy 3
Song(s): Overworld Theme

Not my best work, but I like it nonetheless.

The thing about this song is that you really have to like the whole getting-in-touch-with-nat ure aspect of it, because it is somewhat repetitive.

Still, I think it was worth doing. It pales in comparison to things like Biomechanics or Clear Danger but I still don't mind it. I started this when I was actually playing a game of ol' FF3 and realized how beautiful that melody really is. I thought I'd find a way to heighten that beauty, maybe emphasize it. I also thought about tying it in with another theme, but I think I'll wait a bit longer on the multiple-song mixes - at least until I start something new.

Anyway, enough rambling. Enjoy!

I wonder which would be a more accurate name, FF2 or FF3 as i believe they both used this song for "Overworld theme", but thats besides the point.

Author's Response:

Actually it was only FF3 that used this one - the one for FF2 was quite different. But the style I used for this was similar to FF2 so I see your point.

"something unique for this genre"

It's pretty chill. Reminds me a lot of Evermind, if you've ever heard of them. I agree you just have to relax and get lost in the flow of the music to enjoy this one.

I love FF, and this song doesn't cut it. I agree that it isn't your best; it's too repetitive and weak, but good job nonetheless.

"Nice and mellow"

Good to relax to. Probably needed that last night >_>
Anyway, it's redundant to be sure, but it's got that inner calm feeling to it, which is something I like.
10/10
5/5 just to repair the damage.
I'm hoping it'll make atleast 4.2 in the future.

So I know this song from the DS version. I really liked the beat you had going at the start. i would never have expected that for this song. I felt that the main melody was a bit too slow once it started and I didn't like the sound(the synth) that you used for it at first.

Around 2 and half minutes though you have a nice arpeggio style line going on while the melody is playing and it worked really well. I only wish you had better sounds/synths to work with because overall the sounds aren't that interesting.

Still, I enjoyed listening to it, and enjoyed the rhythmic beat it had. Cool job.
