I do get ever so sorrowful on these Sunday nights, when I feel I should be doing something productive. Something to do better by myself.

But instead, I make my music. So here's a whiny little tune I threw together for my own gratification (more or less). It's a little quiet, but it's definaiely a song of some sort. So that's good.

Not the best, but it's better than some other shit I've yet to submit.

"Well I liked it"

So much so I felt compelled to animate to it.

Im not a musician, nowhere near, yet at the same time I believe this track creates such emotion that its a real inspiration, even if it was supposed to be "whiny".

Really nice.

"Sounds about right"

date: March 3, 2008

I like the mood in this piece - it has a sort of nostalgic feel, a desire for slower and simpler times. That said, I think the celesta or whatever bell like instrument needs to be changed - it's a bit too bright and ringy for the mood of the piece, and just a bit grating on the ears. You can probably even do without it altogether and still have a solid piece.

Good job on this though.

Author's Response:

In retrospect, the bell section is superfluous at best, altogether detrimental to the piece at worst, so it's out. You have quite the ear-- those are precisely the feelings I was going for, the ones which wash over me so often. A tad dramatic, but any other phrasing would not quite cut it. Whatever it is.

Anyway, thanks for the critique, and your sympathy. I'm changing it up in a bit so I can finally be pleased with it.

Author's Response:

The dissonances are a tad irksome, yes. This is just a rough cut-- I quite literally made this in 5 minutes. I'll resubmit it in an hour or two. I think the dissonance stems from the bell section which, at shizeet's suggestion and my preference, shall be removed outright.

Also, I'm turning the volume up. As a side note.

Thanks for the critique, the kind words, and your ears.
