Finally got a piano at home.

Recorded this live a few minutes ago, I may/may not record a clarinet part.

0:00-0:21 represents early childhood and its simplicity.

0:22-0:40 represents adolescence and its carefree-ness.

0:41-0:54 represents the boldness of early adulthood.

0:55-1:07 represents the fading of youth.

1:08-1:18 represents the bridge between youth and old.

1:19-1:49 represents the slowing down of life as age progresses.

1:50-end represents the final breath on earth.

Review, and enjoy.

Thoroughly depressed yet? xD

"Static"

by: Esn
date: May 6, 2008

The composition and playing themselves are very good, but the sound static in the recording is quite distracting. I think you should look into a way of getting rid of at least some of it... I'm sure there's some way to do it in certain programs.

Author's Response:

I've tried. Nothing really works on getting much static out.

Has sort of a creepy feel to it. Tells the story well, too!

"Cool concept"

date: March 2, 2008

Normally you'd think you need a pretty lengthy piece to describe the passing of a life, but this sums it up pretty well in a simple concise manner. Main gripes are with the recording quality, and I'd like to see some more variation in dynamics, but it's a it's overall it's pretty neat piece. Nice job on this.

Author's Response:

It's kinda hard to play the dynamics differently enough for my crappy mic to pick it up.

:/

Thanks for the review though. :P

"Beautiful..."

date: March 1, 2008

I'm going to be teaching myself how to play the piano soon.

How long have you been playing? And how long did it take you to make this? lol

This was really good. X)

^.~

Author's Response:

Hey, thanks for reviewing. I taught myself too. I've been playing for about a half year, but I've been practicing every spare moment daily. I recorded this in a matter of 10 minutes or so, and this was the best recording I got.

In terms of writing it, I've been working on it for at least 2 weeks, I think.

Thanks for the review, and good luck. :P

"Loved this"

I feel you could have used the dampener pedal a bit more wisely, but it was quite moving. Nothing over the top in piano technique, yet this was grand. Make a clean recording sometime and you've got something going :3

4/5

Author's Response:

Yeah, i've only been playing for like half a year, so I'm not all that great.

It took a heck of a lot of work to get a recording. I made like 2 mistakes, but meh.

I'll keep the damper pedal in mind, I'll look into trying to fix that, but thanks. :P
