"Wish it was a bit more ambient"

date: March 1, 2008

I was hoping for a more ambientish piece, but I think the constant drum beat and regular ostinato parts kind of subvert that. Maybe you could add more effects and stuff to the drums - which really sound flat and dry right now - and just vary it a bit more in general. The 5thy synth had a nice sound, but I'd liked to have seen it vary more in rhythm, and generally carry more of a melodic contour rather than just spitting out notes on a regular basis.

The ending section was pretty neat though - you started added some more instruments for variation, and also that hp-filter felt like a good way to close the piece.

Overall, it's an alright piece, but could use touches to keep it more interesting.
