A while back I had this idea to write a cover of Guile's music from Street Fighter II. After listening to many different takes on how it went I finally found a MIDI track of it that was really close to my criteria (many of them had incorrect harmonies or just sounded too simple). So I borrowed the melody and other parts in the file that I really liked and tweaked them to be my own.

When I started this track it was a purely instumental rock track. I spent a lot of time rewriting it and tweaking the various sounds to my liking until one day I hit a creative wall. After putting hours of work in on it I could't think of what I could do to take the track from good to great and so it sat on my computer's hard drive untouched for about two years. I would occasionally go back to it to see if listening to it again would give me a new source of inspiration, but still nothing.

Finally I opened it again about a week ago and just decided that just about everything in it needed a face lift. I realized that by sticking to purely instrumental/non-electron ic instruments was holding me back, so I ripped it all apart again, deleting and reworking almost every aspect of the track until I finally came to this and realized that it couldn't be improved much more than this.

I hope that you enjoy listening to this track as much as I enjoyed putting it together.

I love you lol

I don't hear much of Street Fighter on Newgrounds, at least not to my knowledge, but this is an excellent make on Guile Theme. It's one of my favorites, as are Ryu's/Ken's. None the less man, awesome job. Thanks for making this, and I'm looking forward to hear more of your work. Keep it up.

p.s- if you made like a remix for Ken's Theme from Street Fighter II, that would be sweet.

Cpt-Nemo responds:

I agree that Ryu's theme is awesome and Ken's theme is pretty good, although I still like Ryu's theme more. I might just take you up on that although I am preoccupied with other personal projects at the moment. Thank you nevertheless for the review and support!

Street Fighter Rocks! Guile Rocks!

I remember when I played Street Fighter and played it for long hours straight! Guile was my favorite character! This song has great Guitar feeling onto it! This song is great and better exact replica of the original Guile Stage Song!
Excelent Job Cpt-Nemo!

Cpt-Nemo responds:

When I was writing this song, even initially, I could totally hear it being a two guitar melody. One has the melody (panned left) and the other accompanies it with harmony (panned right). I'm glad you liked it and I'm flattered that you think it sounds better than the original (although I'm sure that the composer for the game didn't have a slew of synths, soundfonts, drum kits, and effects to work with either).
