"Indentured (Friends Without Benefits)"

Song's lyrics are about being reluctant to join in with a girl's desire to engage in "unusual activities." This has to be one of my most complex compositions yet. Never before have I written a song that progresses this much through different styles. So much actually that I thought I had come up with some new genre here, yet when my friend D.L. Chandell listened to it, he described it as "retro." So I really don't know. I'll let you decide for yourself.

Lyrics:

Reserved, like a handicap parking space; I just can never open up to you
And you'll be fined for sure for parking this close to the front
Shy may be just a three-letter word but it is big for the two of us
And I can never seem to deal, and maybe you're just taking the brunt

Cuz I just can't relax, I'm not a permanent resident
Like taking Ex-lax and speaking with the President
It's unpredictable and you think that something will go wrong

But if we switched sides, than maybe you'd see different
Then I'd be your guide in a bizarre experiment
Though you'd try to resist, you'd always still be my guinea pig

CHORUS
*I'm trying to adapt to you
*I guess that's just what I must do
*But if I can't hook up our ends
*Then let us just be friends

So I'm a pain in the ass just like a Circuit City rebate
When I'm out of gas halfway from here to home plate
And you're standing at third, waiting for me to get a hit

But your riding crop and your studded leather jacket
Is overwhelming while I'm hanging from this bracket
And I get to thinking perhaps I'm not cut out for this shit

You say I'm like some gasoline; they'll always find a way to jack up the price
And you're finding yourself giving more to give me a chance
Hey, you draw the lines just where you need to, so why can't I do the same?
You'd stitch a Do Not Enter sign right onto the back of your pants

You get the idea of how we should be from looking at Eastern porn
And now your inner soul is set from after leaving that guy who looked just like Jack Osbourne
You shook me up and you turned me around like I'm a Chili's Margarita Mix
I still like you but I think I'm better off messin' around with more sane chicks

CHORUS 2x
