"Almost Paradise" is a rock album by me and my friend Brian where we chose to tell a story of our subject. He is a man who grows up with big dreams of changing the world and sees the world for what it really is and is disillusioned by his findings. From here, it's a question of whether or not he finds the courage to move on. The first track actually acts as a spoiler, because it starts the album where the story ends but then Tarantino's it back to the beginning (which was track 2)
Sounds emo, I know, but it was Brian's idea. =p
I am practicing new vocal techniques that I've executed in this song that I hope give my vocals a better sound than on previous songs. One thing this song lacked vocally was better articulation. Here are the song's lyrics:
-------
Another day
Another slave
To the self-destructive way
How did such a life come to this?
Another day
Another pain
Why does the world have to be this way
Why can't I change all of this?
Just look at all them walking by
As if nothing bothers them
Why should I let myself be a part?
What has happened to my strength
The courage to live everyday
What should I have to hide
Why should I fly in the rain
Seen this before
There's always more
Don't lose what you're living for
There is so much more to life than this.
When I view
A start anew
Wish I could go back to what I knew
Why did I have to learn of this?
