This is the first time I've tried to do something truly epic.

"nice"

date: April 29, 2008

needs a little mastering, but the basis for a great song is in there,
my only critique: the opening could have had a little more build-up (but thats just me)

GREAT SONG, almost on par with Danman87

Author's Response:

Yeah, this song was my introduction into composing epic orchestrated pieces- I've much improved since this one. Take a look at "She," for example.

The composition was excelent, the horns really nailed the epic feeling. But the drums, or lack thereof, sucked major ass. You need drums that come in halfway through the piece and really haul balls. And make sure you don' t keep that wierd kick drum pattern. Or that kick drum sound. It's wrong. Just majorly beef up the drums, and you'll have an amazing song.

"howdy"

date: February 1, 2008

oooooooooo opening is very Richard Ashcroft, can't remember the song right off me head. But yea the horns had me straight away. the really low bass kick hmmmmm not too sure as with the snare, maybe something more natural. Alot of the instruments sound 'midi-ish' dunno why. As an arrangement you have nailed epicness, some very grandiose sounds and wanton immediacy, gets the heart going. There are plenty of interesting layers which my ear keeps picking out. The only complaint as mentioned is it's midi-ish soundchoice. anyways 9-10. 5/5

Author's Response:

Ja, not all of the instruments are of the highest quality.

I'll have to re-evaluate and re-make them.
