This song took me over a week to complete. It's fairly experimental, I used some weird techniques to pull this track together, and I think it's pretty decent. I've decided to recreate my project I started in 2007, "The Colour of Music", so this is the first completed piece of that series, and the others will vary in styles, classical, folk melodies, drum and bass, dance, trance, techno.
I hope you enjoy this, it's the longest and hardest I've worked on a single song so far.
So, please rate and review fairly.
Cheers, and enjoy!

pretty smooth
It all fits really nice together. I wish my music could get this good. It sounds like you took your time to make everything perfect. All the hard work payed of you could say.
A piece of work to be proud of.

Great
The song was very fluid and made my skin crawl in a good way. It had a very creepy and sarcastic sort of tone to it. It made me think of the flash Lillium. I couldn't help but keeping listening to it although I really wanted to stop. It draws you in like a blackhole never setting you free. It entices your mind lulling it into a deep slumber with hypnotic tones.
Haha, I'm glad you feel that way. Thanks for the review.

Demented
The combination of that Dnbish bass with the breakbeat and piano and whatnot is really cool. The song kinda reminds me of the music in the movie "Halloween".
Definitely would be really badass as a theme for a horror movie.
I would have liked a little more with the ending though. Just ending with the reverse cymbal didn't seem like enough to justify the piece.
Overall though, excellent work here. I love experimenting with stuff like this, and it is really interesting what all you have going on in here.
I can't wait to hear more of these "Colour of Music" tracks you are working on, from the sound of this song, I expect them to be great.

Cheers, man. Thanks for the review. I'm thinking that once I've got the series up on newgrounds (may take ages...) I might touch up on them a bit. I think a bit more tension at the end here would be cool. The other tracks probably won't be as radical as this one, but they'll all have a decent amount of effort in them and so the variety of styles should all be good to listen to. I've got another song done, but I'm going to polish that one up and post it at the end of the month. It's amusing, because that one is an upbeat, happy, soft techno tune.

Long build and cooldown. Radical mix of instrument
5/5 & keeping in iTunes.
I've been listening to this for a while. It's an odd vibe - I don't know if I really see it being used in a flash, but it's awesome to listen to.
The piano has a really creepy melody and rhythm to it and there are a few sorta slow drum rolls that sound like someone hitting a pipe. Really adds to the vibe.
It's not until half-way through that you really go into the full set of beats and even then, it's a quirkly little breakbeatish thing with one beat 'missing'. Whilst this'd make it hard to pace a game or movie to, though, it makes for a great amount of variation whenever it pops up on itunes during drawing or reading articles.
There's nothing much I can suggest to improve it. It's at the standard where I'd need to listen to it 10 more times before feeling qualified to suggest improvements. Removing the build-up/cool down would make it lose so much.
Hmm... maybe some strings in the centre, when it's going wild? Just an idea.
The song is totally Pico-esque. You really should rework it to resubmit if there's another Pico AP competition this year.
Looking forward to more stuff from you!

Cheers! It reminds you of pico? That's interesting, because I asked MindChamber to check this out for his Pico day flash, except that his movie is about p-bot, so it must have some sort of NG theme to it! Yeah, I couldn't really see this used in a game, but I think the song has some applications in certain movies, it just requires that particular feeling to fit.
Thanks for the review, 5 and DL.
