OK since i don't have any new material, i though i would submit something old.
This is my FIRST classical composion effort i ever made. I think it's from 2001 or 2002. ( i had started my interest for music for about a year earlier maybe)

So plz respect that this is simply a test with instruments and so on.
Let's call it experiment #0 :)

Experiment #0... Is the... WINNER!!!

Never in my life have I honestly given respect to music like this, until today with "Experiment #0"... AMAZING! You give this genre a whole new reason to be heard. Very well done.

I like this one too.

I looooove classical music, you probably know that listening to classical music while studying improves your grades right.
Anyway were to begin, I'm trying to delve a bit deeper than simply saying, you rock make more.
Well, I liked the, was that a harp in the background? Anyway that was nice. The horns if I'm not mistaken, were good and I feel that the whole piece really pulled itself together, nice little ending bit too. I don't know much about instruments as you can tell, I'm a choir nerd myself. Sang Soprano for 2 years, bass/baritone for 5.
Keep up the good work, you guys rule.
Ur #1 Fan.

Kimken responds:

Wow! thank you very much!
Yes it's a harp in the background!

You sing? i just bought a vocal microphone and must practise singing so that maybe i can record some singing in the future. Let's just say i don't do so well when i try to sing hehe :D tried karaoke when i was drunk and i though it sounded "good". But you know... i am stupid when i'm drunk :D

Thanks for having the time to review so many of our songs. More will be uploaded in the near future!

Excellent and Brilliant

I believe I recognize this program. It be Edirol HQ Orchestral. Am I correct?

Anyways, this is a well developed score with sort of a mediocre performance by the program. I really don't like some of the instruments on the program, especially the woodwind and some of the strings. However, don't let my words get you down from this genre. As I sit here, listening to your music, I am reminded of how I was back in the day and you should not turn from the classical genre. There is a lot of ability to express yourself in the music and you should take a creative lifestyle within symphonic music itself.

Honestly, I don't always look at the performance, I rather listen to the score.. if that makes sense. Every note that's played, I take notice and I try to understand everything that is going on during the music. Your aggressive use of percussion is well noted in my book. It adds excitement, but restrain yourself from using too much. Too much bass tapping can can cause it to overlap itself and give a small mastering issue. But, you managed to use the staccato bass which is an interesting trick. It's sort of a muffled bass hit. You get the impact, but there is no or little reverb involved. It's useful when you really have to use a lot of bass but you don't want mastering issues. I would recommend the normal bass when you just use it here and there, but you managed to use it effectively in this episode and you're developing quite well in music.

I do hope you will continue your musical journey and find your true talent within composing great and masterful scores. You may even be our next top composer here on Newgrounds someday! Just don't turn your head and never let anyone get to you and cause you to quit making music.

Sincerely,
Bosa

Kimken responds:

Wow, such a long review.
Edirol = Yes it is!

You are completely right about edirol. It does have it's weak instruments, like most of the strings and woodwinds. I could have EQ'd this song and it would sound a bit better, but not sure if i have the score left since this is such an old song.

Oh. I understand what you mean about listening to the score rather than the song. I try to do so myself when i listen to music from other people.

Don't worry! music is my passion and i will HOPEFULLY never quit/give up! There is much improvement for me out there!

Thanks for the long review! i hope you like our other songs (even though we make different genres than classical most of the time, but it's a challenge to compose classical pieces too!)
