This is an orchestral remake of "Vampire Killer" and "Poison Mind" from the Castlevania series. I've taken a lot of creative liberties with the pieces and I think any Castlevania fan should love it!

This track is from an album I'm working on - it's called 8-bit Philharmonic, and you can check out more music at this link: www.myspace.com/8bitphilh armonic. It's a project to remake a whole slew of classic 8-bit tunes into great symphonic pieces. Check it out!

Please comment, criticism of all kinds is appreciated! Thanks.

NickPerrin responds:

When my "8-bit Philharmonic" album is done, you will hear a medley of songs from Castlevania III for the NES.
Not too soon though! It's going to take a while plus all the other tracks!

Awesomeness all around.

I didn't look at the name of this when it started (I was linked to it, and just let it run), and at 40 seconds my hair stood on end (I'm a big Castlevania fan). Very epic indeed sir. There are a few parts where some instruments dominate a little too much, and it's difficult to hear the rest of the instruments (such as the switch at 2:35, it's tough to hear the violins).

It's the best remix I've ever heard though. Thanks for bringing back memories.

NickPerrin responds:

Hey, thanks for the review! I'm a huge Castlevania fan myself, started playing in the NES days.

This song is going to be part of an NES remix album, and this is only the first draft, so I'll take your note about 2:35 to heart when revising it, along with a few other small changes to make it better.

Where will you be able to get this NES remix album, you ask? Well, it's not done yet, but you can check out a few other tracks in the works at

OMG!

This is fantastic! I've never heard the harpsichord used to such an epic degree. Just from first impressions of this one song, it sounds like the whole album will be fantastic. I'll have to check it out.
Add this song and you to fav artists. Fantastic.

Wonderful

Starts out with some guitar/claw stuff, then slowly grows in intensity- and then, a slow but intense BAM! And I'm all "whoa, how'd he do that? :O:O, that's talent". It evolves into a fantastic landscape of sound, with amazing melodies and arrangements of that orchestra, it's really something unique and wonderful.

Stunning, amazing, it has a much more professional sound than I'd expect would come to newgrounds. Really, I just feel like praising it more and more :D

Fav'd, 10'd, 5'd.

Wow!

It may not be entirely original but WOW! you have done an amazing job!! I love this! i really like the harpsichord at the beginning! you really have done a fantastic job! it takes alt to be able to create such an emotional piece! This really shows what modern classical pieces can achieve! i think that classical pieces are seriously under rated! and i cant wait to hear more of your work!
