Author Comments

Sometimes I compose pieces that I call "Rambles", just so then I can get a whole bunch of musical ideas out in an unrestrained way or something. They're sort of the musical equivalent of a page of linked sketches... What I do is just make things up as I go along (though I always do that to some degree), tying different segments together and starting a new idea every few bars. As such, these pieces are rather varied... Though I suppose it depends what you focus on.
If you focus on the NOTES in music, then this will probably be consistently interesting to you.
If you, however, like the vast majority, focus not on the arrangement of notes but shallowly on the "general feel" of the piece, and/or the SOUND QUALITY of the INSTRUMENTS, and general VOLUME, then this'll likely sound very samey to you throughout, and much will be lost on you. Hm.

Anyway, uh... reviews are appreciated!
(Tsk... I probably expect some low votes just for the LENGTH; I'm aware that people don't really have attention spans these days...)

(By the way, this piece is oooold. Like a year or more old. Probably more... I'm up to Ramble XXII now, but I'll be submitting the others later since I can only submit two pieces a day!)

"Quality work"

date: May 28, 2008

This piece kept my attention all the way through, which is impressive, especially for a MIDIfied solo piano. Even though it's pretty much just a stream of conciousness, at times it can have the feel of a premeditated piece.

"Mardek Style"

date: May 1, 2008

You should have used this in Mardek, it sounds a lot like it. Interesting, I like your songs. Someone has some serious keyboard skills. Where do you get your ideas for melodies anyways?

Author's Response:

My melodic ideas are completely from my own imagination, apparently.
I use nothing as a direct inspiration or influence.

"delightful"

date: April 28, 2008

There were a coupple of parts that didn't flow as well as they could have, but nice job not letting it get boring in that amount of time. Posting more "rambles" would be appreaciated.

"Lets hear some new stuff"

date: January 9, 2008

I can only assume youve gotten better. If thats true the next stuff outta you should be nothing short of brilliant. I admit your right in it being a bit long and does drone a bit but you wake the piece up nicely and the playing is well done. a little trimming and a bit of polish and this song is a freakin 10.
