Very well paced intro and good use of phase for a gentle sound at the beginning. The bass notes around 2:20 don't have the greatest effect on them though... I forget what that's called crap XD. Anyways, it's great that you have all the rhythmic elements from the original (and the right echo on the piano hehe) without being lazy and just sticking in a sample of the song :D. Good outro as well. Not too long but just long enough to tie it in with the sound of the intro.
A few things that you might want to look at again though:
1) At 2:00, instead of just taking everything out and piecing it back together again sort of abruptly, you could put in a more decorative piano solo, or do something interesting with the rhythms at least temporarily before going back into the main idea.
2) There's a good 2 seconds of silence at 2:24 which seems a little awkward. Do you think you could've put in a cymbal crescendo or something like that to make the end of the silence seem more predictive?
