=================
look in the river
as you run to the fields
were it's greener
do you feel safer
open your eyes ['open' sounds like 'hope in', due to the time taken to pronounce the first syllable]
at the sands of emotion;
consume you
as you tumble down
=CHORUS=
one small mistake
and your whole world changes
to what it could've been
relive that moment
until the pain is gone
but remember:
the battle has only just begun
=END CHORUS=
here you will find
where you once felt
the certainty of reason;
a measure of treason
young were the words, in the arms of another
it cannot replace
the moment of faith
where you thought you didn't love him [it does end with a bit of a 'huh', so it might be 'her' instead]
=CHORUS=
one small mistake
and your whole world changes
to what it could've been
relive that moment
until the pain is gone
but remember:
the battle has only just begun
=END CHORUS=
=================
closing my eyes I see...
a girl, running towards green fields, hiding from pain.
she hopes to reach it, hopes for a better life, but love has consumed her
the lyrics further imply to my that she went to the arms of another, and left the prior love (who won't forgive the actions, the lyrics imply that there's contempt between them)
but she doesn't love this "other" so she remembers the past, where life was a small utopia...
reliving her mistake, reliving the moment she left the first...
he's gone... but there's currently nothing left of him but a despairing shall, who won't forgive her
but there is hope, for her heart's battle has afterall, only begun
so she sets out, hope burning brightly, to the future and whatever it may bring
for me this is quite an emotional song, considering a few relatively recent events in my life, so I give you a kudos and a well done on a fantastic emotional piece, that's easy to relate to.
(and naturally, 5/5, 10/10, etc)
