This is a refrenced picture I was working on lastnight but didn't quite finish, so I decided to do so today after work. No description on the character yet but I would actually like to use her for something... and yes, that is a mohawk. =P Infact I've grown to really liking women with mowawks, kind of a turn on for me I guess. o_o

I want to do a full concept of her in some sort of clothing attire, I just... must... work up enough... motivation -_O;

The fella down there using all the big words like someone cares, does not know what he's talking about. He probably Googled it. Anyways I'm a video game/graphics design major at Full Sail University. This is quite a work you have here. The lighting is abstract yet appealing as if she's looking into the unknown or the very familiar. The placement of the shoulder is fine by the way. If you pull your arm back in the same way in a mirror you get the same result. Trust me I've seen a lot of nude women drawn a lot of them too. The shoulders are slouched which would clearly give the illusion that the neckline is sorta off. It's not. The breasts are well placed and undemanding, as in you can see the whole picture and not just huge boobs. Well most people can. Her neck is thin and elegant, matching her pose and stance. It looks as if she has either just arrived somewhere or had just gotten up early in the morning. Lol. The missing hand. I like it in the same way as the hair it matches this picture. Hmm. It gives rise to questioning what actually happened. Did the artist decide to just up and quit or is there some illusion? An answer only the artist could speak I believe. Her hair is beautiful. Very Steam punk well doesn't have to be steam could be just punk. Balanced with the lighting. Light in front shadow in back. Oh that's a good one also. Her having her back towards the shadow. Very interesting. Well I'm done yapping. Please comment back I would like to know the answer to the shadow hand....or will it forever be a mystery?

Zigan responds:

I'm glad a few people took notice on the hand. However, the entire picture does have meaning.

When we look at the picture we see a young woman facing light with her back facing the darkness. The human mind by now considers this merely a style that has been brought through the years as having some sort of light to show what is in the room--our subject being the woman. I like to think of pictures like these in much deeper detail. The never ending battle between light and darkness, clashing with each other only to intertwine between substance to create life and death.

I would really like for the viewers to figure this one out on their own. The woman in the picture is hiding something behind her back that the cloudy smog is also helping to shadow. Look into her eyes, she is not content, she is trying to show no emotion, but looking hard--you can see her face is just trying not to crash with all that she has been through and witnessed.

The tattoo on her arm represents a tribe or gang that she was part of and now looks upon the light to perhaps find redemption?

Much thanks for the vote and the kind words, if you really are from Full Sail, I am pleased to someone from there viewing my works.
