I like it
I kind of wish you DID add the city, because everything in the picture has all this attention to detail... and then there's just a big blank yellow space. But the girl is a unique design, and the picture flows pretty well, so G'job.

been a while since i put something up... procrastination mostly, and multiple projects that i try to multitask on and fail at so i get nothing done except for this!
This idea was a collaboration of at least 7 thumbnail concepts that i had done and then finalized them all here. Originally the painting was gonna be almost the same except a hand of Junk was going to be reaching out toward the girl, and then a city would encroach the background. But i liked my idea of pipes sapping the life out of the forest, and i wanted to have a natural disease decaying the forest.
Really there isn't much of a story for the girl on the dock, except that i have been drawing various versions of this very girl. I like to think there is a story to her even if i don't have one for her just yet.
Everything was done in Photoshop with my Wacom Intuos tablet... long night to finish it... many layers... im tired... later days!

Thanks, I actually constantly look at this an go "i wish i woulda done this, or that, or what if..." for instance, I dislike the rock in the foreground and want it to be slightly darker to fit in a little better. Add more shadowing to the girl so she doesnt stick out soo much. The green i want to transition better cuz it sits in one spot, so expand the gradient more really. I thought about adding a Iron Giant style robot in the background around the blank space of the ocean. Lots of ideas that came up didnt actually make the final cut unfortunately.
