this is based on a friend of mine, simular to the Vashti drawings i have, this one is based on a friend's personal issues.

the story behind this is that when my friend was a little girl she was sexualy assulted and abused for a very long time.

she has only recenty told me about her many issues involving this, and i felt it eplained why she was such a controlling person when i met her. we (her and i) have since been trying to help her get what part of her was lost as a child. its difficult to help someone when they have a tricky background like her, and on top of that have no idea whats in them that broke.

this is the first step to a new painting deticated to her strength to be able to change and not let her past control who she is. once ive finished helping her get through her depressive states of confusion and pain i will post the final painting.

this painting represents her when i met her, what she was to herself and everyone around her. her head is incased in stone, driven railroad spikes thru it to stop it from falling off, wrapped in razor wire to stop anyone from getting into her head (including herself) becasue of the fear that whatever is in there will define her.

now i work with her to help find what it is that shes afraid of.
