Hello all, long time no post!~
Sooo, it was recently Valentines Day and I got to spend it with my adorkable boyfriend (the one in the Adventure Time picture ;D). We both agreed we wouldn't celebrate it, but we ended up treating each other with gifts anyway cause we're both soppy.
So, I got him some gifts and I drew him this picture for his computer wallpaper.
He has a dual-screen thus explaining the rather long length of it!
My boyfriend is a big fan of an illustrator called Drew Millward (http://www.drewmillward.
com/) and I've wanted to try illustration of his style for a loooong time, as I feel it would definitely benefit me to have a knowledge of the unique style in the future. I did however want to mix in a little of my own 'typical animu' style as well though, as it made it more personal and less imitationey in my eyes. :)
So, I spent days and days planning and drawing this till Valentines Day, when I blindfolded my boyfriend and set his wallpaper to this. And he really liked it! Yay!
I plan to do more of this 'illustrative' styled work in the future, as it's a lot of fun and, again, will definitely benefit me to know how to do it!

Yes, long time no post indeed. I don't even remember the last time you posted something, six months, a year? I do like this new piece though, it's . . . lovely. I see what parts that were inspired by this Drew Millward. First off you drew the lines bolder than usual, unless it's the colors your using that makes it seem bolder, that's another thing the color your using is also different, warm colors mayhaps? Last but not least, the one thing I took in the most while studying Drew Millward's art is the dots/bubbles that is in almost in every single peice he has done. You too did this perfectly, whilst still having your own technique, which I have dubbed Shelly's style(TM),I'm still working on it. Hope you and your adorkable(your spelling) boyfriend had a great Valentines. Oh, and next time when your away for a long time, call, write a letter, or leave a post-it note on the fridge.
