A friend of mine is starting a campaign for 5e D&D. I joined yesterday and slapped this concept together last night. Very undecided as to what his name shall be.. Suggestions? What does he look like to you?

Are you more for fantasy names or traditional? Randell/Raghnall. Something with an "R".
What does he look like? Shame we don't have any background on your stats. The posture and pose suggest strength, but hes not flashing a lot of armor. I'd say you've got a burly lower cleric. The kind that would take up dungeon exploring to feed orphans kind of thing.

viscioushero responds:

We must be like soulmates. I've been looking for a good R name for a while. I like Traditional names with a fantasy spin (If that makes sense), and yes, he's a cleric. I have a very vague background. He was an orphan. The local temple took him in. His life was pretty much changed by faith. He lived and learned under all the maesters and priests. As he grew older, so did his angst. He wanted to make a difference in the world so he joined a faction in this campaign setting known as the Arcano Inquisition, and became a crusader. The inquistion's purpose was to hunt down those who bear the mark of Qui (Magic user's, basically). I don't know if I want to go with a cliche "He saw that the bearers of the mark were people too, so he conspired against the Inquisition" or the more dark "He knew they were normal people, but orders were orders." or the third route "He never joined the inquisition, but instead, poached the bearers of the mark and sold them to the inquisition". I dunno.

Even further. A read on his personality. I'm going for an ex-priest type deal. Not a traditional holy man at all. He indulges in many vices, but still regards/remembers his teachings. He has a very cynical exterior that covers up a naivety that believes there's still some good in the world. Even though he might conform to the agenda of the Temple of Peace (another faction that are basically do-gooders), he's too embarrassed to be associated with their order. That being said, he definitely isn't Arcano Inquisition, even though he might, on occasion, entertain their charades.
