I call this, "Swamp Lord". The fact that it's a self portrait is sort of an after thought, so don't laugh... but I just didn't have a good reference with the correct lighting for the evil swamp dwelling man I had envisioned so I lit myself and took a picture, then worked from that. The picture is entirely free hand and the only real reference is my face, everything else is from my mind. I actually tried three different variations on the swamp lord himself and I didn't like any of them as much as the final. Quite proud of this, I'm aware some elements are a bit rough/ cartoony, but there are only so many hours in a day to sit and blend each line and color each leaf. Hope you like it, it's supposed to be creepy...

hey man seems a pretty cool idea. When I zoomed in I can see you're trying to make the woods go on in the distance... Try making the forground elements stronger/more contrast and as they go on into the back ground... fading out to a pale green/white colour to get that feeling of depth. Another thing are elements of mist - especially in a scary swamp... might add more feeling :) other than that not bad :D

WOW, this is awesome! I love it! The grasses and the face are the best parts even though the whole thing rocks, and keeping some of the trees in the background bent and twisted added to the creepiness and kept it from looking too vertical and drawing away from him, so good choice :P -Very- Good on the reflection although I would blend the reflected leaves just a little more. 5/5 and 10/10 ^_^!
