Here is another piece I did for the Amazing Fantasy Art Worth Fighting For contest on DeviantArt. It also has to do with depression and it is based on a talk of the same name by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That talk can be found here https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2013/10/like-a-broken-vessel?lang=eng
Though it is a religious take on depression, I feel that even if you don't believe in God it will help you understand your inherent worth. Often times we may feel like a broken vessel, that no matter how hard we try to be happy we just can't hold onto it. I chose water because it represents life and vitality, though blood would have worked as well. I didn't want it to be gory, and blue is more associated with depression than red. If you have depression, take some time to read or listen to the talk.
