interesting point of view.
here is my take on the kracken
i know you all are wondering why is the kracken a giant crab monster and not a squid ( alos its a german/nordic)
i did a little research and saw the the kracken is a name for either a giant squid or giant crab, and since alot of people use the giant squid i decided to go with the crab
now to explain the body, the kracken armor of strong coral come from the story, after the kracken was turn to stone Medusa's was thrown in the ocean where her gaze fell on the sea plant life and turn them in to stone.
and the other reason is that archaeologist stumble upon old pottery depicting the story of Perseus they saw that Perseus was facing what looked like a white face coming out of the side of a mountain
archaeologist believed that the painter had painted an exposed fossil
which is why my kracken has some fossil on it
well there you go the big bad kracken
