Shel Silvetstein
1930 - 1999
I love Shel Silverstein. He's had a huge influence on me as a writer and as an artist.
I still prefer traditional media over digital. If I had to choose only one, then I would definitely rather pick up a brush and smear paint all over a canvas. But...digital art is so much fun, and Photoshop is an incredibly powerful program with endless possibilities. I've used other digital painting programs before, and I've been studying art all of my life, but this is my first painting done using Photoshop. I just applied the same knowledge I have from traditional media - it's all in the lighting. The simplest formula for creating depth: draw a circle, create a light source, then shade it to make it appear as a sphere.
