Self Portrait
I think the reason an artist paints a self-portrait is not out of vanity, but out of a curiosity to try and discover oneself – like looking in a mirror to try and figure out who you really are, or like writing poetry to examine yourself from outside your own mind – to be unafraid to take deep journeys inside and outside of yourself. We are who we are, and like a painting you can choose to shape who you are. You can constantly evolve, and at the same time, you have to know when to let things go and put them down. There are no limits in art, and there are no limits in you.
