So this was done in collaboration with the amazing detkef.deviantArt. She's got a huge collection of amazing artwork you should all go and check out if you haven't already.
We basically both started off thumb-nailing various ideas together and eventually picked one, and then we just kept sending the painting back and forth painting on it a bit each time. Used Photoshop for painting this, and took a while as well.

Excellent. Love the transparency of the wings. My only complaint is that some parts read as a little flat. Since the light source from behind is so strong, some stronger highlights and rim lighting really would have helped the figures pop.
