This is a terrific piece, Trojan! If I may say it: a large improvement in comparison to your 'Peaceful Day' artwork. The idea behind the cemetery scene was solid, but it had issues regarding the perspective, I'd say, and blurriness was an issue.
Here, though, you've managed to capture quite a soulful, musical figure and the art has lots of feeling: I can tell you passionately painted this one. The colour scheme is simple but proves to be quite warming and rather soft on the eyes. Very acoustic album-like in appearance.
Upon enlarging the resolution, I'm not as drawn to the sketchier parts of the piece (there are some lines surrounding the guitar that could be polished up, ever so slightly). There are colors running out of the lines in some places (like the raspberry kind of colour for the shirt connects with the skin on the arm on the left side of the piece), but I'm going to leave that, since it adds quite a charming look.
I can spot your use of some of Photoshop's brushes and you've pulled it off very well for the black space that surrounds the main subject. I have to say, Trojan, you do shine when it comes to drawing figures and people. May I ask: was this done from reference, and how long did it take roughly?
Keep up your artistic pursuit, friend, if you feel down then there is no need to, since your skills in art are being sharpened with every piece (more than mine in PS, at least, haha). Take care of yourself.

This piece took a total of 3 days off and on using an old photo of my stepfather playing his guitar. I intended for this to be printed off for his xmas present. Though lately it seems him and my mother have been fighting and seperated yet again so he wont be around to receive it. This is the one piece I have actually not rushed and payed attention to the details. Vs my usual rushed 30 minutes painting. Thank youfor the kind rreview.
wow really good
