Journey at the Speed of Light

Ride on a fun-filled adventure through a sea of stars! This might be the cover of a children's colouring book I would like to do as a gift.

This drawing was heavily inspired by the songs of Genki Rockets, particularly "Hikari no Tabi." However, I'm well aware that although Genki Rockets' music is amazing, their lyrics....... are not.

Just as a fun fact, the rocket's name is HMS Vivacious. 'Vivacious' is the approximate English translation for the Japanese word 'genki'.

Originally drawn with a black Sharpie marker and magic pens on A4 paper. Further colouring was done on GIMP. I added one or two filters as well, but for good reason.

Any tips on improving this would be much appreciated.

This is some good art right here. It has a lot of detail. It is really imaginative. The style is simple yet interesting and pleasing to the eye. I can't think of any feedback that would improve this as an overall work of art. However, since you're looking for criticism, I'll share my thoughts on how I think this could be a better children's coloring book cover. First, I think that there is just too much happening in this image. All the little things you put in can get distracting. I think a coloring book cover should be more simple; less stuff to look at. A heavily detailed picture like this would be better cover for a book like I-spy or something. The second thing is that you should probably have the title around the centre of the page instead of at the bottom right. I hope you find my thoughts useful and satisfying.

Oof, you uploaded this quick enough. Looks like the spacey background and an abundance of sparkles and glittery effects was all that was needed to touch up the hand-drawn part. That and some nifty shine and reflection effects in some areas.

Anyway, this is some lunar-like loveliness and, like kkots mentioned, a playfully bright piece of art: a drawing indeed fit for an illustration on a children's book cover or something else involving younger audiences that would find this style appealing.

I think the usage of the burn tool could have been blended into the piece a little better: I can see circular darkened areas littering the bottom of the piece (it's especially noticeable on the debris between the two planets.) But it has been used in a creative way, like the bottom of that 'fairytale castle' planet: good job!

Minor colouring snags aside, this is, again, pretty captivating artwork full of lively activity and general uber-happiness.

Also, I checked out the link: the tune and the intro is brilliant, but I don't really care for lyrics that go: "...hold on tight, we're travelling speed of light". And that's how it's actually said in the song, darn. :L

Take care of yourself, friend, and keep up the art!

Looks like a child's drawing, or I somehow get associations with children when I look at this.
Very detailed and colorful - perfect for kids to inspect thoroughly.

wow! this art is very good and also very open ;) keep it up! :3
