You shall work the mineshaft day and night, for your ore is good for the people of this land. You shall read what we give you, listen to what we say or play for you, and all your thoughts will be on the good of the people of Sauveterre.
Conform, and you will live. Stand out or press for additional freedoms, and you will die -- by hanging, by stoning or by conscription.

Welcome to Ironstakes.

This is an impromptu, an almost abstract one, done between last night and this morning, after I had gained inspiration from a piece of concept art that @Hoeloe made. I tried to experiment with different shades, and this came out. @IrishChieftain has since asked me if I was channelling Grimshaw, because of the way in which the moon was drawn. I was certainly not intending it.

Quite a deep atmosphere there! This is the type of artwork that I could stare at for a long time, and just get lost in. (The "fat sparks" in the background seem weird to me, though.)
I was listening to this music while looking at your drawing:

They combined to make an impactful image.

I love the look of it

Oooh I like. Moody, reminds me of Fallout.

Troisnyx responds:

I'll admit I never played Fallout or any games in this series before, and I don't quite know what to expect in them -- nevertheless, thanks!

The piece was actually inspired by a rather dystopian view of the things I was taught growing up, as well as all sorts of human rights abuses I'd read about and sometimes witnessed.

God, this is lovely...

The moon and fog doesn't really blend with the rest of the picture, though. But then again, who has the right to question art?

Good work, lad.

//Kabalist.

Troisnyx responds:

Eh, thanks : ) The moon and fog, I'll admit, were an afterthought, as I did that last -- and a Grimshaw moon works best with a great amount of perspective and detail, both of which this drawing doesn't have.

Still, I'm glad you like it.

P.S.: I'm a lass, not a lad. ; )
