this reminds me of the end of over the garden wall i like it
My entry for this month's challenge by Jazza!

I think it's a lovely theme, and I happen to have a whole bunch of original characters which would fit it because they actually DO represent the different seasons, and I could simply have put them into different landscapes.
…But that seemed cheap to me and I decided to go for a painting of another of my characters. She's basically a tree, so I figured she'd make a fine representation of summer in a setting of deep, dark, dead winter.
…Her skin is made of amber, that's why it looks funny.
Was fun.
The tree is actually huuuge, but I wanted to come up with a decent composition that would still show her tortured face and parts of the landscape, so I shrunk it to a "normal" size.

Haven’t seen that, I hope it’s positive that my picture reminds you of it :P
This Smashes! Something to aspire too. great work!
I'd have to say this contest makes me want to draw more
characters relating to the seasons...
Funny thing is that I have several of those! And go ahead, it’s so much fun to depict the seasons :).
Utterly stunning! I love that it's at night. I guess people forget that half the day is in darkness!
I love the fact the mood is set so well... It's so sad.
Stunning - I'd happily but that and put it on a wall!
Thank you! She's dwelling in a place where winter means that the sun doesnt rise for weeks, so nighttime it is. I also think that darkness and light make for a lovely contrast in addition to snow and leaves.
As for buying… make a bid ;). I could also make it available as a print, I suppose.
its so sad and beautiful! for me it looks like dying autumn in a heavy winter. the expression of the face is marvelous!
Thank you! It has indeed a lot to do with dying (and rebirth ;))
Pure awesome!
Thanks!
