I always thought the Batmobile ran on moonlight.

Never really thought about Bats having to stop for gas.

You make me laugh, you make me think about life, and sometimes... you do both.
I can think of one way this is gonna' end.

Batman is more of the pollution buff. Poison Ivy is the real tree hugger here.

How do we know that the individual talking to Batman is not one of Poison Ivy's confederates? If he is not in cohorts with Poison Ivy (or any other villain), he can rest assured that Batman uses his energy in the sake of good. After all, when villain like the Joker is on a killing spree, catching him is usually worth the carbon dioxide exhaust. Also, remember that Wayne Enterprises can easily develop more energy efficient vehicles.
