The Shadow Men

Someone asked me to do a few illustrations for a book of poems he wants to publish. This is one of the drawings for him. The poem this drawing is based on is The Shadow Men. You can find the poem here.

What a day!

I am so glad to finally be able to review something of yours the exact day it came out. This is the kind of picture that really grows on you. While it did lack color, it made up for it in style. I was just so impressed at how much dimension you gave everybody with those black lines outlining them. Even the pointed claws, a staple of your artwork seem to take on a whole new transformation. It's hard to make out the faces because they're so ridiculous.

By ridiculous, I mean in a good way. It's amazing how many different degrees of macabre artwork you can put out. The clothes are so dark it even looks like the flesh colored parts are sort of just jumbled around. You know how to create a great way of emotion with the lines on their faces. I am glad you will never stop at this!

OH MY RAPTOR JESUS

This is beautiful amazing
reminds me of the story of the 3 brothers from Harry Potter and the deathly hollows :)

linda-mota responds:

Oh my, thank you! (not being sarcastic I swear)
I never got around to read harry potter. Just never cared for them, but i should look into that one.
