"Shivering at his post on the side entrance to the keep on a cold, lonely night he rubbed his hands together to try to stave off the cold a bit. What a rotten job this was, guarding a entrance nobody even used and overlooking the most silent part of the keep. Nothing else he would get from this job other than several frost bites and a couple of coins. Then there was a strong knock on the door. Another knock and he realized somebody was behind the hefty reinforced door. He opened the small viewport to peer outside. There he saw someone hunched in robes, head hung low so he couldn't see the person. "Go to the main gate, no entrance here.", and he slid the metal piece on the viewport shut, returning to the task at hand, shivering and hoping he could be at the inn drinking the cold away.

The same thing happened for several days, each night a robed figure would knock on the door twice. Until one day he instead of knocking would hear scratching from behind the door. Sliding open the viewport he saw the same robed figure, but this time trembling wildly as if from the cold. "Listen, like I have said several times before, go to the main gate if you want to get in. You just walk to the right from here and..", before he could finish the person fell down out of his sight. As having to explain why there was a dead person at his post wasn't something he wanted to explain to his superior he decided against his better judgement to open to door. He unlatched the lock on the door, pulled it slightly open to peer outside. There he found the person laying in the snow face down. "Are you alright?", he reached down to nudge them and as he got closer the moonlight now that was coming from behind the clouds revealed more of their form, as it turns out they weren't robes at all.

Just something I made for fun again, also tried drawing this on a single layer, and it was quite enjoyable, might have to try single layer painting more!

Nice little story. :D The wolves look really cool. I used to draw werewolves all the time, maybe I'll start it up again soon. Good job!

Cheers, coolkitten13! Why not give it a go? It's always fun to go back and draw something old again when you have gotten a bit more experienced :)
