Devorasu nagas

Share

"In one of the most desolate and scorching parts of the planet where not many living things thrive live the devorasu tribe of nagas. Living in such an unforgiving environment the tribe has become notorious for being skilled navigators of the desert, however, more so due to their habit of being cannibalistic. Cannibalism however is a bit broader term in this world, as it refers to anyone who eats any of the sapient species on the planet, this act is, quite logically, forbidden in most places and in most cultures and deemed to extremely barbaric. However living in a place where there is little in the way of food their culture has been tightly knit around this act, going as far as to make this a religious act within their tribe.

However they do not cannibalize the members of their own tribe and instead wage wars and raids to neighboring tribes and civilizations to sustain themselves. Ungraceful is indeed the fate of the people who die fighting the devorasu, even less so for those who become only wounded when fighting. Their lack of self preservation in battle is something to afraid of, as they will barely ever flee from a fight and oftentimes leave themselves vulnerable by devouring their foes in the midst of the fighting, as they believe they will get the strength of the beings they consume and doing this on the battlefield or someone who is still alive is especially acknowledged.

This tribe, much like many others of its kinds, were absorbed into the alliance of the scale later on. However the leader of the alliance, Rahass, wanted to keep especially this tribe separated from the rest of the warriors to avoid their habits and beliefs to spread within the ranks. Due to this, the members of this tribe, despite their fighting prowess, were not included into the main fighting force and were mostly left alone after they had pledged themselves to the alliance. The tribe was however called to fight in a handful of battles where their behavior caused many murmurs to rise outside the alliance about the members of the alliance being all cannibals."
