"Ah, my apologies, didn't mean to scare you like that. Here, allow me to help you back up. Don't worry, these children of the ground wont bite you, despite you being in their land. In fact, I hear that you almost stepped on one of their friends earlier, you would do well to be careful where you place those feet of yours!...hmm, I cannot say that I have seen the likes of you around here too often, whatever may bring you here?... I see, well, I suggest following the tracks of my brethren when you go around in this forest as it can be quite easy to lose your way in here as not many two legged creatures such as yourself move among these trees. Ah, I see you eyeing my sword! Well, if you continue a few tails towards the direction where the sun rises you'll find one of our modest little hamlets, ah, in your measurements it would be a mile or two if I recall correctly. There you'll find one of our greatest blacksmiths, this sword was also one of his works of art! However I don't blame you if you have not heard of him, as if things are still like they used to be, our handiwork still has a somewhat tarnished reputation in your societies. I must be off now however, the children of the ground have a lot to tell and there is much one can learn from just by listening to them."
