Working on a comic promotion, and I'm trying to choose a style that fits best. Which do you think? The left is darker, more traditional, while the right is simplified, more upbeat. Think Cory Walker. Thoughts?
Hightide himself is somewhere in the middle, not too dark or too light I suppose. Bleah.

Left.
Your idea of sticking with traditional style would benefit more with the left image.
A tad more time consuming, but looks better overall.

Dude
The fucking one in the left.

I think they both look practical
But for different sorts of comics. Depending on how serious the comic is, choose accordingly. If it was to be humorous, the right pertains to the uplifting spirits of comedies more, and the one on the left would fit a serious story better. I prefer the one on the left either way, but if you were to do a comic that was more lighthearted and funny, I say choose the right.

Very interesting!
It's pretty cool to compare styles! I do like the one on the right a lot!
