Even though you say you do not like it, I think it is a good piece. It is simple but stylish, the eyes are kind of creepy but the spiky dress adds something to this. The edges are like torn flower petals.
I can understand your feelings towards this work, I have been painting for nearly 2 years now and when I look at my earlier work, I get an irrational urge to just throw it on a pile and burn it. I know it sucks compared to more technical and high quality work, but everyone has to start somewhere right? keep up the good work :)

It's a love-hate relationship I sense here? Overly femme stuff or rather simply "objectifying women" has hit high markings everywhere, especially places like Japan. Personally feelings imo. Although cute and alluring there is definitely most offputting about it and I can understand your sensibility to hate it. Or "disgustingly loathing" others may say. In any regard, the picture as is IS well done. But now, I'm rather curious to why exactly you, the artist, despise drawing these types of pictures, that is, before I start assuming. =o
When I started drawing, it was stuff like this. Ive advanced beyond such simple artwork I think, though simple and perhaps nice looking, and popular amongst reg people....i feel the need to improve myself. Some artists just continue drawing the same sorts of things the same way forever, perhaps making them more complicated but the same underlying theme...
Basically, id rather draw ugly more complicated things at this stage in my development. Sometimes i go back and draw something like this because people seem to enjoy it, i don't care much for cutesy stuff anymore.
