Concept idea

What do you guys think? My bf gave me a great idea to make the colors less bright for a scary feeling, or darker feeling. I tried to mix warm and cold colors, warm to add the robot's rage, and cool to add fear and mystery as it fades in the bg. This is an idea me and iOneofMany came up with together. Hope you guys enjoy! FEEDBAAACK?

I can't get enough of this!

I'm absolutely in love with the design of that robot! This whole scene is amazing. It's so filled with emotion!

Syringes responds:

Aww! Thank you! : DD

Impressive

Yes it is. You know what I really, really like about this picture? Your use of multiple painterly/texture brushes. It gives the picture a grungy and 'bookcover' sort of feel for me. Then there's the robot thingies eyes and the shading xD
Still trying to figure out how you did it. It's lovely, keep up the good work.

Syringes responds:

Aww thank you! I was examining other work a while ago and discovered that backgrounds look a lot more interesting with lots of texture and such, although it wasn't a HUGE success, i still thought it was really neat and not too distracting, but something to look at. I spent a while trying to find some neat texture brushes, hehe. Im glad you liked this! haha. Well, photoshop and a paint brush, took about 3 or 4 days with a 2 day break(Not sure about the hours though). Im just glad I didn't give-up ^^;

AWSOME!!!!

This pic is amazing!!! It kinda makes u wish there was a series to this. I love it it makes you go in the picture. It gives u the tense and rushing feeling. It also reminds me of a show i used to watch. U are a great artist. did u use photo shop? Cus im actualy gonna start learning to use photo shop this weekend.

Thank you!!!!

And response to your idea of a series to this? Wellllll..... /suspicious grin/ *Quoted from my boyfriend*

Also, if you need some awesome tips about photoshop you can ask me! I only use the paint brush tool, it makes the best effects after lots of practice.

sensational!

i love that color pallet those duller blues make that scary orange eye just explode! - - i sure hope there is some animation or something to come from this!

Syringes responds:

Oh!! Hey there! ^u^

Haha, I am glad to see you still look at my art : DD I love making concept art, designing characters, etc.

Also, an animation idea? /suspicioooous griiiiiiin/

Very well done.

I am impressed, I love the contrast between the warm/cold colors, and I love how the robot has a seemingly organic eye, just makes it that much more intimidating. And being a sucker for detail, I'm also pleased to see the subtle, yet visible nail marks in the snow. Gives the impression they were about to get away... oh the suspense!
The frost effect you've got going on is quite nice as well.

As for improvements, maybe it's just me, but the background seems a little more rushed in contrast to the foreground, lacking some of the finer detail, almost making it seem like 2 different pictures just thrown on top of each other.

That aside, great work... And if this is going somewhere as you imply... Color me intrigued.

Syringes responds:

Aww! Thank you for the review! Hehe, I agree with you though. Definitely rushed bg, which is why i am thinking about fixin it up a bit. I guess I wanted all the focus to go tot he characters, but that doesnt mean i cant mack the bg interesting too haha.
Also, keep an eye out, it will be a while but we are working on a project. I am so excited.
