"flying" dune buggy

Share

A car model done for school, from an idea of a friend who needed a flying car for a game. The game was never done, except for a terrain demo, in 3D. I made this car first in 3DSMAX 7, and it sucked real bad, you have no idea how much!! then I redid it in max, but better. Still sucked hard, lol. Then started 3D school and made this one the first year.. big difference!

Anyway, done in maya 8.5, like it or not it's my design, no reference.

Hope you like it!

Oh, very nice!

Very nice, sleek design, good reflections and lighting angles. I'd kinda like to see what the decals are of though. That ground texture looks like it might be from borderlands lol. The only flaw I see is that the shadows on the ground are a little too dark. You need some ambient lighting there...

DarkSword responds:

the ground texture is a photo of the ground near school, lol.. = p close up shots, those rocks are like very small in real life (like one inch dia)

Nice...

Wow looks great good job.

Looks Good

Too bad game never finished would have been a nice game possibly.

You happen to be a Halo fan?

It looks like a sporty version of a warthog from Halo :O

DarkSword responds:

I'm a pc gamer, so.. well I did play halo for 5 min on my friend Xbox but no sorry, I am no fan. Even looking at the warthog on the net, I don't see much of a resemblance. Of course they are both buggy's, but else than that..

My influences were real life dune buggy's (from the two first design I did in max), F1's from the '60, airplanes turbofan and a lot of time wasted trying to invent something... lol

Oh, and of course, that good old honda 3 wheel 1975 ATV.. gee this little thing was only 90cc. : )
